How Performance Shapes Identity | Authentic Lives

About

LGBTQIA+ community members have had a long history of involvement in arts and entertainment. In this episode, we’ll meet a comedian, a dancer, and a musician who use performance as a form of expression and self discovery.

Queer and transgender people are not only underrepresented in the media, but reporting on these communities is often focused on negative stories. The mission of Authentic Lives is to showcase positive stories and explore the vibrancy of the LGBTQIA+ community in the Pittsburgh region—and beyond.
